The Fat Hippo Underground Newcastle

The legend says beneath the streets of Newcastle hides a Fat Hippo, tucked away underground... Or more like word of mouth about the amazing eats you find right under your feet on Shakespeare Street.   I'm such a massive fan of the Fat Hippo in Jesmond, just out of the city centre but heard The Fat Hippo Underground was just as good, if not better so I thought I definitely had to check it out. Awaited me were my the mouthwatering burgers I have come to expect from the Fat Hippo family. As they say... 'Good food. Messy fingers. Juicy burgers Fat Hippo do the good kind of gluttony'.

Tapa Edinburgh

Last month I was surprised with a lovely weekend break for Valentines day where we ventured over the Scottish border to the beautiful city of Edinburgh. I wrote a full blog post about all the exciting things we got up to while there such as going to the castle and the zoo which you can read all about here. On our first night we wanted to try eat somewhere a little different and upon some research through Trip Advisor and Buzzfeed we heard about a lovely authentic Tapas restaurant just a few minutes out of the heart of the city.

So a reservation was made and off we went with our stomaches empty and mouths watering. Now I'm a massive tapas fan so I really was looking forward to this feast. Give me all the garlic coated seafood and spicy patatas bravas one could possibly consume and I could still leave hungry. One of my favourites things about Mediterranean holidays is eating their cuisine, everything is so fresh and tasty with flavours of citrus, garlic and spices. I clearly was ready for some tapas. We arrived at Tapa, hoping the reviews hadn't built this place up too much... but they didn't even come close.

February Favourites

Looking back February can be such a horrid month with wet weather and still feeling the pinch that the festive period has taken on your bank balance. But March is finally here and spring seems to be in sight, hurrayIn times like these when the days are grey I feel treating yourself to a few little bits and bobs is always a necessity. As is giving your make-up a spring clean, and then replacing with lots of new and exciting products. All my February favourites are beauty products so clearly I've been enjoying spicing up my collection with a few new buys which definitely will become repurchases asap. So now March is here we can look forward to blossoming flowers and sunny, longer days hurray and I can look back on my favourites and say maybe February wasn't so bad after all... cosmetic wise that is.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

I personally love Benefit and they're entire brand, cute quirky packaging and good products that find a spot in the market between high street and designer make-up prices. I'm a huge fan of the Benefit They're Real mascara, so much so that I'm a serial repurchaser. It was so fair to say I was pretty excited when I heard they were adding to their mascara range and knew I just had to get my hands on it. I feel like I put myself on the waiting list forever ago but finally it turned up on my doorstep. I was so excited to see how the Beneft Roller Lash mascara compared, but more importantly if it had the all important curl factor it states to have.
