Festival Fashion Look-Book

I promised I would do this post but I never really got around to it, but as I was packing my leeds festival bag today I was swamped with more asks on tumblr begging me for this post so here it is. Enjoy my selection of festival styles that I think looks super cute for the festival. And remember festivals are a great time to experiment with fashion, so maybe take a leap of faith and try out a look you wouldn't normally.

Boho Beauty

This outfit is inspired by the easy living style of festivals, think Nicole Richie at Ccoachella. Gold jewelry and feathers really help give this look a little something more exciting than especially in white! The butterfly sleeves also really add to the hippie look. Dream catcher earrings give the outfit a native american vibe while adding a little umph to a casual chic. Think free love and peace head to toe. Top off the look by matching your outfit with beachy waves to get that boho chic look down to a T.

Glam Goth.

This look is for those of us who find nothing better than a black to black look. High waisted shorts and chunky knits are always great at festivals but add a little something extra with a worn-to-be-seen undertop, crop top or bra like the one I opted for from Primiark. Make the look something a little more by adding some bang on trend, fall look lipstick in a dark  plum/grape and large statement jewelry like gold hoops. A top knot finishes off this look perfectly.

Monochrome Madness.

The two most classic colours in human history make no exceptions when it comes to a festival. Black and white are always in style and will always look perfect regardless of time or place so do it. But be careful... white shorts are not a clever option when it comes to a muddy festival, just saying. Keep on trend with this turtleneck crop top, the newest staple must have item, and accessorise with a cute, short necklace that shows off that neckline. Black shorts are a needed item in every closet and every festival closet too! They match everything and look flawless regardless of how rough the girl inside them may look.

Pretty in the Park.

The girly side can come to play just as much as the every other look. Adding a skinny belt to a plain summer day dress and showing a little more leg will make any outfit look more festival ready. The denim jacket adds something a little extra but the studded denim jacket in the light wash gives that girly edge a little more clean cut twist but keeps it festival appropriate. Think Ariana Grande for style inspiration - cute and clean cut but with a edgy twist.

Vintage Vanity.

Think Alexa Chung when it comes to this style. Keep it plain with denim shorts and a white bralette but spice it up with something more like a cute vintage jacket or like me, a velvet kimono. So effortlessly awesome if I do say so myself. Large sunglasses and old aged jewelry finish off that look to give it that old soul feeling that vintage is all about.

Double Denim Diva.

This fashion crime becomes acceptable when matched with a very simple out like this crop top/high waist combo. Most important thing about DD is that you need to have the denim different colours like my shorts being very dark blue while my jacket a mid denim. Quiff your hair with a simple bow or clip to add an extra dimension to a simple outfit while keeping it cute.

Print Pro.
striped tee - topshop | high waisted shorts - american apparel |faux snake purse - primark | floral waterproof mac - charity shop | riding boot wellies - hunters

The art of print clashing is one that many struggle with to create a look the will do justice, well my simple rule is keep the outfits plain to balance out the prints. A plain short/tee outfit is made a hundred times more interesting when patterns and prints are thrown into the mix. Play with different colours and sizes of print to create illusions on the eye and play peek-a-boo with worn-to-be-seen pieces like under tops. But most importantly when it comes to this look... make sure to know your limits. Don't try throw every pattern under the sun into one look, two or three are about right so you don't look like you stole an item of clothing from each of your friends to create an outfit.

Camo-tastic.
crop top - forever 21 | high waisted shorts - american apparel | faux snake purse - primark | camo jacket - urban outfitters renewal| riding boot wellies - hunters

The hottest hipster trend has been a festival favourite for years now. You'll often see photos of Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and the Geldof girls rocking a camo jacket at festivals. The key to the look is the oversized jacket in a camo print, obviously, but then you also need to remember to keep the rest of the look very simple so the jacket is the statement piece. Top knots or bed head waves make for a perfect accompaniment this simple look as well as gold jewelry and oversized sunglasses. But just because this look is simple doesn't mean it has to be boring, like with  this cut out crop top makes the outfit that little more special than just a plain head-to-toe black outfit.

Grade-A Grunge.

The 90's grunge look is back with a vengeance! Think John Bender from The Breakfast Club and you'll be on the right track. Opt for a simple but dark look and incorporate oversized items to give that real 90's grunge feel. One of the most important things when it comes to a grunge style is layering, so even though you might be hot think shirts over tee's so you can always take them off in the crowd and tie it around your waist to keep the grunge look there. The beanie is optional but I feel it just gives it that little bit more of a I don't care attitude about my hair feel that the grunge look is all about.
